I'm not sure what happend but we had a very unusual delay from BEST, it took 6 weeks before the kites shipped. Now this might sound short by other brands standards where a 2-3 month lead time is usual, but we are used to BEST dropping kites into NZ within about 2 weeks, sometimes less. Which makes for fantastic stock management. It's like kites on demand. Brilliant! Anyway, we are back in business with the new KAHOONAS here now and the NZ dollar screaming away to new hights. Did you notice there was a TABOO box in the pile of kites. Yes, we just received a 12m TABOO for everyone to drool over. I've had three sessions on this kite over the weekend, in surf & in flat water. Tip Rd, Waipu. Muriwai out west & Shakespear Bay Auckland. Tough job, but I no complain ;) First impressions are...
LOOKS FRIKEN AWESOME, I love the black leading edge, silver graphics and attention to detail in the construction. Chunky wing tips and wicked sail shape. Looks like it will turn fast... it does. I also like the fact the kite arrives with a sail bag, not a bulky canvas pack. Simple, light weight and extendable if you want to leave struts inflated. ONE-PUMP inflation, redesigned, improved and simplified. It's working sweeter than ever. Ok enough of that, you will see the kite in the pics right. WARNING: This is not a learners kite! It's intended for riders who know how they want to ride and just get on with it. It has a front bridle but it's not a BOW kite. It feels a lot like a C kite, but the bridle will let you drop the power off if required. FAST. So it's safe as, just like a bow, and very simple to rig and fly. I just thik it wouldn't be appreciated by learners, give one to a Kitelooping freak and they will be in heaven. UNHOOK ride fast throw a trick or ten this is your kite. Enough said.
